New chair for European Parliament's Committee on Citizens' Freedoms and Rights


The election of Pat Cox (ELDR, Liberal and radical group) to the Presidency of the European Parliament has led to a change in the chair of the European Parliament's Committee on Citizens' Freedoms and Rights. Previous chair Graham Watson (ELDR) has become leader of the ELDR group in the parliament. The new chair of the Committee is to be Ana Palacio, a Spanish MEP from the conservative PPE group.
