6.4.04: The Committee decided not to adopt a report on the Commission's proposals on EU driving licences - including plastic card licences with a microchip. The two biggest groups in the parliament the PPE (Conservatives) and PSE (Socialist) joined forces to put the measure on hold. This was the last chance for the parliament to give its opinion before the June European elections.
