EU: Council of the European Union to back down on demands for extending agencies to have access to SIS II

A Presidency Note to the Mixed Committee of Senior Officials (mixed, includes Norway, Iceland and Switzerland): EU doc no: 14490/06, 30 October 2006 says the package of three measures is agreed with the European Parliament except for giving access to internal security agencies. The Note says that the "important issue" of which agencies have access to VIS "will require further examination, including the possibility to submit.new legislative proposals on this subject".
