What is interesting is that in this Council document: European Council (19 and 20 June 2008): Progress report from the Presidency to the European Council - Preparatory work in view of the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty (pdf) it says that the new structures under the Lisbon Treaty meant:

"It was accepted that there would no longer be a need for a formal role for the Police Chiefs Task Force."
