Statewatch analysis: Shock and anger at the violent policing tactics used at the G8 Summit, Parts 1 & 2 (pdf) by Trevor Hemmings. Part 1 looks at the policing of the G20 summit in London in April 2009 which was severely criticised following an allegation of manslaughter and 270 complaints of police assault. Part 2 specifically examines the aftermath in which community organisations highlighted longstanding problems of police indiscipline and official inquiries developed strategies for future protests.
