MENS, le fichier ethnique illégal sur les Roms (Le Monde, link): The French gendarmerie run a database collecting data on ethnicity and race called "MENS" and targeting Roma, held by the Central Office against the itinerant delinquency (OCLDI). NGOs have tabled a complaint for the creation of a non-declared database and for the storage of "personal data related to racial and ethnic origin" and announced further appeals to the CNIL and the HALDE.
