The politics of fear, hate and insecurity is lucrative and in the increasingly corporatised and non-transparent state, it is also a perfect means to control dissent against other policies that restrict fundamental rights and freedoms, abuse human rights and channel public funds, intended for public services, into private projects that serve solely private interests."
