The number of people relocated has increased (800 people have been relocated from Greece and 504 from Italy since the last update on 8 February).
However the number of places actually pledged - as compared to the number of places Member States are legally bound to provide - is still massively short of the foreseen total of 160,000.
In the Commission's report of 8 February, 15,329 places had been pledged across the EU for refugees in Greece and 7,599 for refugees in Italy. The latest "state of play" document only shows a combined total of 24,883, an increase of 1,955.
