Entry into force after all of the first 15 Member States ratify; following ratification by Luxembourg on 30 June 2005, entered into force 28 Sept. 2005 in all old Member States and also in Estonia, Hungary, Poland, Cyprus, Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania and Latvia
Status no replacements or amendments proposed: Convention
Court of Justice Ten of the ‘old’ Member States to ratify the Convention (all except UK, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands) have given jurisdiction to the Court; eight of them give jurisdiction to all national courts or tribunals to send references (Spain allows only final courts to refer); four of the new Member States have given jurisdiction to the Court (Hungary, Estonia, Cyprus and Lithuania, which allow all courts and tribunals to refer)
