Belgium: Racism and fascism in Antwerp
artdoc May=1993

Freddy de Coen, a Vlaams Blok candidate in local elections in
Saint Nicolas, Antwerp, has been imprisoned - he is suspected of
having imported women from sex clubs in the Philippines, Poland
and Hungary and to have been implicated in the drugs trade
(Solidaire 4.11.92).
Meanwhile, a Socialist party council member, Staf Neel, has
defected to the Vlaams Blok, thus depriving the local Socialist
coalition of its majority in the city (Solidaire 18.11.92). 3
Moroccans have been injured after racists attacked a cafe in
Antwerp dock area (Solidaire 11.11.92).
