An itinerant exhibition of photographs, from the personal collection of Roberta Bacic, has been assembled to commemorate and share "the process of dealing with the past alongside the relatives of the disappeared and those executed for political reasons in Chile" on 11 September 1973. The exhibition, which has been travelling across Europe, marks the US-backed coup which saw tanks rumbling through the streets and civilians executed by firing squads at the National Stadium, in an early example of the USA's "war on terrorism". The execution of elected President, Salvador Allende, prompted celebrations in Richard Nixon's White House, according to recently released US government records. The exhibition "will give a voice to some of the voiceless" and show "the outcomes of the struggle for truth, justice and memory."
