Police powers PACE Racism

Reports on last night's Commons debate on the Police and Criminal
Evidence Bill, during which a Lords amendment to make evidence
obtained improperly inadmissible in court was overturned by the
Government; nearly 30 Conservative MPs voted against the
Government in opposing the provision to make racially
discriminatory behaviour by the police a special disciplinary
offence, but the Government won with the support of Labour and
Alliance MPs.
