Attempts to construct a profile of rape from offences reported
in Islington LB and Lambeth LB during the period 1984-1986, in
order to suggest ways of preventing this type of crime. Concludes
that a key to prevention is to encourage female rape victims to
report the attack to the police regardless of any personal
relationship with the offender.
