A white man who admitted to cutting an Asian spectator's face
during a cricket match has been ordered to pay his victim
¼1000 compensation.
Charles Jeffries, aged 32, who carried out the attack at
a Sussex-Warwickshire cricket match last August was also
ordered to perform 240 hours community service by the Lewes
Crown Court. (Times 15/12/90)
