Results from a survey of crime and fear of crime in Islington show
high levels of both, suggesting that in the inner city fear is
perfectly justified particularly among women. Looks at the views
of both black and white residents on police priorities in
tackling crime and finds remarkable similarities. There was also
a measure of agreement on opinions about the police with
significant numbers in all ethnic and age groups critical of
police activities and effectiveness.
