A friendly settlement was reached in a case involving the deportation from Britain of a 19-year-old Moroccan who had lived there with his family since the age of seven. He had an extensive criminal record, including violence. The European Commission of Human Rights held the deportation violated Art 8. The British government agreed to revoke the deportation order and allow him to re-enter, settle and apply for naturalisation, and to pay his costs.
