Follow-up report of the Belgian Government in response to the report of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) pertaining to its visit to Belgium between 31.8 and 12.9.97. European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (Council of Europe) (CPT/Inf 990 11) Strasbourg, 12.7.99. Comments of the Belgian government regarding progress on measures being taken towards the implementation of the CPT's recommendations. The report covers measures being taken in relation to police and gendarmerie establishments, detention centres for foreigners, penal establishments and a psychiatric hospital.
