France: Customs given detention powers

Support our work: become a Friend of Statewatch from as little as £1/€1 per month.

Customs officers are to have power to check foreigners' entry permits in a radius of 20km from borders, and to detain those foreigners whose documents are inadequate, for up to three hours, by a Bill passed in December 1993.

Our work is only possible with your support.
