The Freemasons have circulated their members urging them not to
shield colleagues who behave dishonourably; Pro Grand Master
Lord Cornwallis approached Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir
Kenneth Newman but failed to persuade him to withdraw a
statement about the masons sent to other police forces.
