Turkish police officers tortured a Kurdish asylum seeker after his deportation from Germany. German police accompanied the man to Turkey and passed on to Turkish officers not only asylum documents but also the man's briefcase with personal papers and PKK documents. The man is now serving a long prison sentence under the Turkish Anti-Terrorist Law.
