Italy: Correction: In "Roma camps attacked in Naples" (see Statewatch vol 9 no 3 & 4), the quotations attributed to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) were in fact written submissions by the ERRC (European Roma Rights Centre) to the CERD. The CERD's Concluding Observations state concern "at the situation of many Roma who, ineligible for public housing, live in camps outside major Italian cities" which "in addition to a frequent lack of basic facilities,...leads not only to a physical segregation of the Roma community from Italian society, but a political, economic and cultural isolation as well."
