Presents a picture of the current workings of Police Authorities,
based on interviews conducted with officers and members in five
metropolitan areas. The findings suggest Authorities are now
seeking to work with their respective chief constables rather
than challenge them, and reveal a trend towards the establishment
of positive working relationships between Police Authorities and
their police forces.
