Tony Banks MP asked the Secretary of State for the Home
Department how many metropolitan police officers had been
suspended from duty pending investigation of the alleged
misconduct to date in 1989. For the Home Secretary Mr Peter
Lloyd replied that 64 officers had been suspended so far that
year.
