The Dutch audit office has accused the police force of "serious deficiencies" in the storage and exchange of data. According to the auditors over half the information reported to the audit office is either out of date or wholly inaccurate. The audit office investigated the reports being exchanged between five regional police forces and discovered that exchange of information is "inadequate and incomplete". In addition, cases that had been closed for years were still listed as being current. They blamed this incompetence on "emotional resistance resulting from the police culture."
