New anti-terrorist unit formed
artdoc June=1991

During the annual debate over the renewal of the Prevention of
Terrorism Act, Home Secretary, Kenneth Baker, said that a new
anti-terrorist unit had been established. Last October, a
small group was set up, chaired by William Taylor, Metropolitan
police assistant commissioner responsible for special
operations, with three chief constables from forces outside
London. This unit will have special responsibility for
counter-terrorism. (Guardian 5.3.91)
