Mr Douglas Hogg, Minister of State at the Home Office was
asked if is was intended to approve provision of the Arwen Ace
plastic bullet gun for police forces in England and Wales. He
replied: Equipment for use in situations of serious public
disorder is kept under review. No decision has been taken to
replace the currently authorised baton round equipment but a
number of baton round dischargers, including the Arwen Ace,
are being considered as possible replacements.
