Constitutional change to stop illegal movement into Germany
Poland has altered its constitution to enable the authorities to
take into custody anyone who won't comply with expulsion from
Germany. The changes, brought into effect after pressure from
Germany, come after several cases whereby those arrested for
attempting to cross the border illegally were released from
custody after 48 hours, only to attempt to cross the border again
(Tatblatt 18.1.95).
