Presents some of the findings of the London Domestic Violence
and Policing Study which was conducted during 1984 and 1985 in
Hounslow and Holloway. It examines the response of the police to
calls for assistance, and the attitudes of police officers to the
problem, as well as outlining previous research on the issue and
looking at police initiatives in the United Kingdom and
