The Government was defeated by 2 votes in the Lords last night
when peers supported an Opposition move limiting proposed police
stop and search powers to uniformed police under the Police and
Criminal Evidence Bill. Also article by Louise Christian and
Johanna Fawkes describing what could happen "if the Police Bill
isn't amended".
