A Home Office report, `Community Policing: a Study of Policing
Initiative', by David Brown and Susan Iles, criticises community
policing as inadequately thought through; a Gallup Poll for the
`Daily Telegraph' finds that 3 in 4 people are satisfied with
the way the police do their job but that 1 in 5 have been
"annoyed" with an officer in the past 2 years.
