Police National Computer
artdoc May=1991

Mr Nellist asked the Home Secretary whether any private limited
company has ever had access to police files or to the police
national computer. Mr Peter Lloyd, Minister of State, replied:

"No non-Government organisations have ever had access to the
Police National Computer, but arrangements exist for
information from police records, including records held on the
PNC, to be disclosed to selected organisations where this is
clearly in the public interest. Access to force records is a
matter for chief officers.
