Comments on the problems raised by collaboration between police
officers to ensure that the record of a particular incident, as
presented in notebooks, is consistent between officers. Outlines
the existing law and looks at the relevant sections of
the Metropolitan Police Officers' Instruction Book . Argues that
the practice of pre note making collaboration must be vigorously
