Highlights the problem of racial harassment, emphasising that it
affects both Asians and Afro Caribbeans and that they are subject
to violence on a widespread scale. Provides a short history of
the phenomenon, defines racial violence, and assesses its nature
and extent. Examines the police response, and looks at how
local authorities approach racial violence. Discusses self
defence and community responses. Looks at the far right and its
use of racial violence, and the context in which racial violence
operates. Makes recommendations on how the problem could be
tackled.
