Discusses the treatment of defendants accused of offences in
connection with the disturbances during the anti poll tax rally
in Trafalgar Square, London, on 31 March 1990. Comments that it
appears that no expense is being spared by the police and the
Crown Prosecution Service to obtain the maximum number of
convictions, despite the often insubstantial evidence based only
on police accounts of individual incidents, or that any attempt
is being made to investigate the real causes of the disorder.
