Looks at the policing of this inner city area of Bristol in the
aftermath of the riots of 1980. In spite of continued verbal
hostility and suspicion on the part of some black youths, there
does seem to be a greater willingness to cooperate with the police
on serious crime. Many police working on the ground are sympathetic
to the problems of black youth and deplore the social and economic
conditions they face.
