Police raids on far-Right "Radical Action"

A defector from the neo-nazi group "Radical Action" has
implicated over 30 people in neo-nazi activities, including
threats to the family of the young anti-racist, Guillem Agullo,
who was killed in April 1993. Five youths are in prison awaiting
trial for the killing.
House and office searches in 1993 and 1994, part of a wide
investigation into the Valencian far Right, revealed weapons
including chains, bayonets, machetes and baseball bats, and
racist and nazi propaganda. The 30 people revealed as being
members of Valencia Radical Action are likely to be charged with
belonging to an illegal organisation and with threatening
witnesses (El Pais 11, 12.2.95).

Courts round-up

Skinheads accused of attempted murder

Four skinheads who attacked a Spanish citizen of Guinean origin
in September 1992 stood trial in February for attempted murder
and assault. Abilio Winston Balboa lost his right eye and 13
teeth, and suffered a broken jaw, as a result of the attack. The
prosecutor demanded sentences of up to 15 years for the
ringleaders, in recognition of the racist nature of the attack
(El Pais 31.1.95).

Bail condition for neo-nazis set precedent

Three neo-nazis charged with violence and public order offences
have been granted bail by a judge in Valencia, on condition that
they do not go to public shows, cinemas or theatres, and with
sureties of 2m pesetas for two of the accused. A fourth member
of the group remains in custody. The convicted neo-nazis went
around Castellon shouting racial abuse and attacking a number of
youths with fists, a knife and a bottle in August 1994. The ban
on attending public shows is thought to be the first of its kind
in Spain (El Pais 5.2.95).
