Terrorist murders [Northern Ireland]
bacdoc January=1992

Hansard written answer 19.11.91 Col 144

Mr Trimble asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland
if he will list the number of persons convicted of terrorist
murder in each of the last five years indicating how many
were actual triggermen or bombers and how many were
lookouts, drivers or other accessories to the persons who
directly executed the murder.

Dr Mawhinney, Minister of State for Northern Ireland: the
number of persons convicted of the scheduled offence of
murder in each of the last five years is as follows:

1986 24
1987 10
1988 12
1989 11
1990 8

I regret that information on the extent of each individual's
involvement in the murder for which he-she was convicted is not
readily available and could be obtained only at
disproportionate cost.
