Dr Mawhinney, Minister of State at the Northern Ireland
Office, said that since 1970, 580 persons have been
sentenced to life imprisonment for terrorist offences. At
the tine of conviction their paramilitary affiliations was
as follows:

PIRA 223
OIRA 11
INLA 85
UVF 140
UDA/UFF 106
Other Loyalists 15
