REPORT OF RESEARCH INTO THE REASONS FOR CRIMINALS'
INCREASED USE OF FIREARMS. THE POLICE, THE PUBLIC, AND
CRIMINALS' VIEWS OF THE USE OF GUNS WERE INVESTIGATED IN ORDER
TO ESTABLISH AN INDICATION OF FUTURE TRENDS. IT IS CONCLUDED
THAT, BARRING A LARGE INCREASE IN POLITICAL
TERRORISM, INCREASED CRIMINAL USE OF FIREARMS WILL NOT
BE REFLECTED BY INCREASED POLICE USE. REFERENCES
