Office field trials of the tape recording of interviews with
suspects at police stations. Provides details of the effects of
the new procedures on police practice (such as length of
interviews, time taken to prepare notes and statements, the
gathering of criminal intelligence) as well as the impact of
taped recorded interview evidence on court business. Also,
includes information about the use made by prosecution and
defence of taped interview evidence.
