Part 1 of this report outlines the recommendations by the Women's
National Commission Working Party on this issue. Part 2 provides
general comments on violence against women and the role of
support groups and goes on to discuss new approaches by the
police to the treatment of victims of rape and sexual assault.
The report notes the emergence of voluntary organisations to
assist women victims such as rape crisis centres and womens aid
organisations. There are 4 annexes.
