Borders and frontiers

Europe’s borders are becoming more violent, militarised, and surveilled. They are even being extended far outside Europe itself. Driven by racism and xenophobia, these developments undermine our democracy and shatter any notion of “European values”.

Politicians develop these policies and practices largely in secret. They use technical language and backroom discussions to conceal their policy objectives and evade democratic scrutiny.

We report on these policies and their effects to hold states accountable.
